Addendum: Software Applications and Connected Accounting Platforms
Last updated: 7 August 2026
This addendum describes how Ledgercore Financial Inc handles information in connection with the desktop software applications it develops and operates for its own internal use, including the Cloud Accounting Connector and applications built on it (the "Software"). It supplements, and does not replace, the privacy policy above.
Who uses the Software
The Software is an internal tool. Its only users are authorized LedgerCore personnel performing accounting and bookkeeping work. It is not distributed to clients or to the public, and it does not collect information from members of the public.
No LedgerCore servers are involved
The Software runs entirely on the LedgerCore-controlled computer on which it is installed. LedgerCore does not operate any backend service, hosted database, or cloud component that receives data from the Software. There is no analytics, telemetry, usage tracking, advertising identifier, or crash-reporting component of any kind. No information is transmitted to LedgerCore or to any third party other than the connected accounting platform itself.
Information the Software accesses
When an authorized user connects the Software to a company file on a third-party accounting platform, the Software may read and write:
- Chart of accounts and account metadata
- Journal entries and recurring journal entry templates
- Transaction reports used to reconcile prior postings
- Company identification information, including company name, realm identifier, country, and base currency
The Software also reads payroll summary reports and payroll accrual spreadsheets that the user selects from storage already controlled by LedgerCore. These files may contain aggregate payroll figures by department. The Software does not require and does not extract individual employee identifiers, Social Security numbers, bank account details, or home addresses.
Authorization and credentials
Connections to accounting platforms use the OAuth 2.0 authorization-code flow. The user authenticates directly with the platform; LedgerCore's software never sees or stores the user's platform username or password. The access and refresh tokens returned by the platform are stored in the Windows Credential Manager on the user's machine, protected by the operating system under that user's account. Refresh tokens rotate on each use. Application credentials issued to LedgerCore by the platform provider are stored in the same protected credential store.
Aside from credentials, the Software keeps a small local profile file recording company aliases, realm identifiers, and the target environment. It contains no secrets and no financial data.
Transmission and encryption
All communication between the Software and a connected accounting platform occurs directly over TLS-encrypted HTTPS connections between the user's machine and the platform's published API endpoints. No intermediary proxies the traffic.
Retention and deletion
Because no data is collected centrally, there is no central retention period. Stored authorization tokens persist on the user's machine only until the connection is revoked. A user may disconnect a company at any time from within the Software, which deletes the stored tokens for that company from the credential store. Authorization may also be revoked at any time from within the accounting platform's own connected-applications settings, which immediately invalidates the tokens.
Disclosure
LedgerCore does not sell, rent, or share information accessed through the Software with any third party. Information accessed through the Software is used solely to perform the accounting and bookkeeping services LedgerCore has been engaged to provide, and is subject to the same confidentiality obligations as all other client information described in the privacy policy above.
